A candidate who pays or contributes, or promises to pay any elector, either directly or indirectly any money or other valuable thing for his vote, or for the purpose that the elector should use arts for securing such candidate's election, and afterwards takes the oath of office prescribed by the constitution and laws, is guilty of perjury. 2. The law presumes such payment to have been made knowingly and willfully. 3. The testimony of a single witness issufficient to convict of perjury, but if there be other facls and circumstances corroborative equal to another witness, it will be sufficient to warrant a conviction.. Charge of the Court. Hon. Jackson Boggs, P. J. Gentlemen of the Jury: The case you were sworn to try is the prosecution by the Commonwealth against George A.
